Guado al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore Magnum 2023 is a flagship red from Tenuta Guado al Tasso, one of the Antinori family’s most historic estates in Bolgheri. Crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, it captures the coastal elegance, structure and prestige that have made Bolgheri one of Italy’s most celebrated wine regions.

Tasting Notes
The wine typically shows a deep, concentrated ruby color in the glass, with impressive intensity and depth. Aromas move from ripe blackcurrant and dark cherry to Mediterranean herbs, graphite, spice and finely integrated oak. On the palate, it is powerful yet polished, with ripe tannins, excellent freshness and a layered core of dark fruit, savory complexity and long mineral persistence. The 2023 vintage should have strong aging potential, developing greater nuance and harmony over many years in bottle.

Production
The grapes come from Tenuta Guado al Tasso’s Bolgheri vineyards, set in the amphitheater-like coastal landscape of Maremma where sea breezes help moderate heat and preserve aromatic lift. The soils are predominantly alluvial clay and sand, giving the wine both richness and definition. After harvest, the grapes are carefully selected, de-stemmed and vinified separately by parcel and variety; fermentation and maceration take place in stainless steel tanks for 15–20 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in barriques and further aging in new French oak before blending and bottling.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with grilled or roasted red meats, game, braised lamb, truffle dishes and aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for about 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the aromatics and structure to open fully.

Tenuta Guado al Tasso is part of the Antinori family’s prestigious wine holdings and has deep roots in the historical Gherardesca estate, linked to the family since the 1930s and tracing back much further in the region.
