Description
Guado al Melo Bolgheri Antillo 2024 is the estate’s youngest wine, a lively Rosso di Bolgheri that brings together the historic grape varieties of the area in a fresh, approachable style. With Sangiovese at its core, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, it reflects both the tradition and the modern identity that have shaped Bolgheri in the 20th century.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, Antillo 2024 shows a vibrant, youthful color with bright ruby reflections. The nose is expressive and fruit-driven, with aromas of red cherries, ripe berries, and subtle floral and herbal nuances, complemented by a hint of spice from the Bordeaux varieties.
On the palate, it is harmonious, juicy, and energetic, with an appealing balance between freshness, soft tannins, and generous fruit. The finish is clean and lively, making it an easy wine to enjoy now, while still having enough structure to hold up well over the next few years.
Production
Produced in Bolgheri, in coastal Tuscany, this wine benefits from the area’s warm Mediterranean climate and the moderating influence of the sea, which help preserve freshness and aromatic clarity. The grapes — Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot — are carefully tended by the estate’s growers and harvested to achieve the right balance of ripeness and vibrancy. Vinification focuses on preserving fruit expression and harmony, resulting in a wine that is immediate, supple, and true to its place.
Food & Serving
A versatile food wine, Antillo 2024 pairs beautifully with grilled meats, roast poultry, pasta with meat sauces, and Tuscan-style charcuterie. It also works well with mushroom dishes and semi-aged cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C and decanting is optional, though a brief aeration can help open up its aromas.
