Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine typically shows a deep ruby colour with youthful purple hues. The nose is refined and layered, with blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, pencil shavings, violets, and subtle earthy and spice notes that gradually unfold with time in the glass. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and beautifully composed, combining dark berry fruit with fine tannins, fresh acidity, and a mineral, savoury core. The finish is long and precise, with the class and structure to age gracefully for many years, rewarding patience over time.

Produced in Saint-Julien on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, Gruaud Larose benefits from gravelly soils that promote excellent drainage and help Cabernet Sauvignon thrive. The estate is known for meticulous vineyard work and careful harvesting to ensure optimal ripeness, with vinification carried out to preserve purity of fruit, structure, and the estate’s distinctive classical profile.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs especially well with roasted lamb, beef fillet, duck breast, game, and dishes with mushrooms or truffle. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the aromas and tannins to open fully.
