Sourced from high-altitude vineyards on the northeastern slopes of Mount Etna, it offers a distinctive expression of Nerello Mascalese shaped by one of Italy’s most exciting terroirs.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a bright ruby-red color with a lively, translucent core. The nose is refined and expressive, with aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry, dried herbs, crushed stone, and a subtle smoky, volcanic character. On the palate, it is fresh and precise, with fine tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish. The wine balances delicacy and structure beautifully, making it enjoyable now while also having the potential to develop gracefully over the next several years.

Production
The grapes come from vineyards in Solicchiata di Castiglione di Sicilia, on the northeastern slope of Mount Etna at around 750 meters above sea level, where volcanic soils and a cool microclimate help preserve freshness and aromatic complexity. The vines are old and farmed sustainably, with hand harvesting at optimal ripeness. In the cellar, the fruit is carefully selected, destemmed, and gently crushed before fermenting for 12 days in stainless steel with daily pump-overs. The wine is then aged for 15 months in foudres before bottling.

Food & Serving
This Etna Rosso is a natural match for grilled lamb, roast poultry, mushroom risotto, aged cheeses, and Sicilian-inspired dishes with herbs and tomato. Serve it slightly cool, around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if you want to open up its aromas and soften the structure.
