Description

Georg Breuer’s 2007 Berg Roseneck Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese is a rare and highly concentrated sweet wine from one of Rüdesheim’s celebrated steep-slope vineyards. Produced in a limited quantity from individually selected, naturally shrivelled Riesling berries, this half-bottle combines impressive richness with the finesse and freshness characteristic of the Rheingau.

Tasting Notes
The wine displays a deep golden colour and an expressive bouquet of ripe peach, apricot and honey, complemented by a subtle mineral character. On the palate, it is luscious and concentrated, with layers of ripe stone fruit and honey balanced by vibrant acidity. The finish is long, persistent and refreshingly mineral, giving the wine remarkable balance despite its sweetness. As a Trockenbeerenauslese from the exceptional 2007 vintage, it has the concentration and acidity to develop gracefully over many years when stored correctly. It can be enjoyed now for its mature, opulent character or cellared further for additional complexity.

Production
The Riesling grapes were grown on the steep slopes of Berg Roseneck in Rüdesheim am Rhein, where the site contributes both ripeness and mineral freshness. Harvest took place late in the season, with the grapes carefully hand-selected to retain only the finest and most concentrated berries. The wine was produced in small quantities and matured for several years in oak casks, allowing its fruit, sweetness and acidity to integrate harmoniously.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Its balance of sweetness and acidity makes it an excellent match for fruit-based desserts, apricot or peach tarts, crème brûlée and blue or strongly flavoured washed-rind cheeses. It is also delightful on its own as a luxurious aperitif. Decanting is generally not necessary, although a brief airing in the glass can help reveal its aromatic depth.

Producer
Georg Breuer is a respected Rheingau producer known for expressive Rieslings that reflect the distinctive steep vineyards around Rüdesheim. The estate’s wines are valued for their combination of precision, elegance and site character, and this limited 2007 Berg Roseneck Trockenbeerenauslese represents one of the region’s most concentrated and age-worthy sweet wine styles.
