Coste di Rose is a single cru site in Barolo known for its sandy, finely textured soils and elevated position, which together give wines of great fragrance and finesse. G.D. Vajra farms these vineyards with a strong emphasis on respect for nature, using careful, largely manual work in the vines, including hand-harvesting at optimal ripeness to preserve Nebbiolo’s delicate aromatic profile. In the cellar, grapes are gently crushed and undergo a long, traditional fermentation and maceration to extract fine tannins and nuanced aromatics rather than sheer power. The wine is then aged in large neutral oak casks (and potentially a mix of vessels, depending on the vintage), allowing it to develop complexity and harmony without masking its terroir-driven character.
