The nose is highly perfumed and defined: dried violets and lilacs, lavender essence, and a touch of wild rose frame a core of sour red cherries and cranberries. The altitude and exposure allow Nebbiolo to ripen slowly, preserving natural acidity and aromatic intensity, particularly the violet and red-berry spectrum that defines this cru. G.D. Vajra farms the vineyard with great care—hand-harvesting at optimal ripeness, with a strong focus on biodiversity and low-impact viticulture. In the cellar, the grapes are gently destemmed and undergo a long, traditional fermentation and maceration to extract delicate aromatics and fine tannins rather than excessive richness. Aging typically takes place in large, neutral Slavonian oak casks, allowing the terroir to shine through with minimal oak imprint, before the wine is bottled—here in magnum—to further refine and integrate slowly over time.
