Bierzo sits in northwestern Spain, on the edge between cooler Galicia and the warmer Duero zone, with many vineyards planted at 300 to 800 meters above sea level. This altitude helps preserve acidity and aromatic purity in Mencía. Gancedo works from around 85 hectares in Quilós (Cacabelos) and produces its wines in a traditional style, now under fully ecological practices. After years focused on sustainability and soil health, the estate has earned CAECYL certification for organic farming, underlining its commitment to working in harmony with nature.
