Gancedo Herencia del Capricho Godello 2020 is a выразive white from Bierzo, one of northwest Spain’s most exciting rising regions. Made from Godello, the area’s flagship white grape, it combines freshness, character, and a strong sense of place, with roots in a region that has been producing high-quality wines for generations.

Tasting Notes
Expect a bright, polished white with a clean, luminous appearance. On the nose, Godello typically offers fresh orchard fruit, citrus, white flowers, and subtle mineral notes, while the palate is known for its balance of ripe fruit, crisp acidity, and a gently textured, elegant finish. The 2020 vintage should be enjoyed for its youthful vibrancy, but Godello also has the structure to develop nicely over a few years in bottle, gaining more depth and complexity with time.

Production
Bierzo sits in a transitional zone between cooler Galicia and the warmer Duero area, with vineyards planted at higher elevations that help preserve freshness and aromatic clarity. Gancedo farms approximately 85 hectares in Quilós (Cacabelos), and the estate works organically with a strong focus on sustainability, soil health, and traditional methods. The result is a wine shaped by mountain-influenced terroir and careful, nature-minded vinification.

Food & Serving
This Godello pairs beautifully with seafood, grilled fish, shellfish, roast chicken, creamy rice dishes, and fresh vegetable plates. Serve chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and decanting is generally not necessary, though a brief opening in the glass can help the aromas unfold.
