Tasting Notes
In the glass, this 2003 shows a deep garnet hue with the brick-orange reflections that come with age. The nose is layered and expressive, with aromas of ripe cherry, dark berries, dried roses, leather, tar, tobacco, forest floor, spice, and subtle coffee notes. The palate is concentrated and full-bodied, with ripe Nebbiolo fruit, licorice, earthy minerals, and well-integrated spice. Firm tannins and vibrant structure provide lift and length, while the finish is persistent, complex, and refined. It is drinking beautifully now, though it still has the structure to evolve further with careful cellaring.

Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours to allow the aromas and structure to open fully. For an older bottle, a gentler decant just before serving is often ideal.
