Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Spätburgunder is deeply colored yet beautifully transparent in style, with an elegant, polished look that hints at its precision. The nose opens with blueberries, dark cherries, wild herbs, flint, and a subtle touch of sesame, creating an aromatic profile that feels both pure and highly expressive. The palate is mineral, fresh, and finely structured, with vibrant acidity carrying generous blue fruit and a long, refined finish. Production
The Steinreise vineyard benefits from an exceptional exposure and a rare combination of calcareous, volcanic soils that give the wine its distinctive mineral backbone. Grapes are harvested with care to preserve freshness and site character, and the wine is then matured for 18 months in small French oak barrels, with about half of the casks being new, adding structure and subtle spice without overpowering the fruit.

Food & Serving
This is a versatile but decidedly serious Pinot Noir that works beautifully with roast duck, guinea fowl, pheasant, mushroom dishes, veal, or herb-crusted lamb. Serve it at around 14–16°C, and if enjoying it young, decant for an hour or two to allow the aromatics and texture to open fully.
