Fontanafredda Barolo Lazzarito Vigna La Delizia 2021 is a site-specific expression of Nebbiolo from one of Barolo’s most respected crus. Sourced from the famed Lazzarito vineyard in Serralunga d’Alba, it combines the perfume, structure, and longevity that have made Barolo one of Italy’s most celebrated wines.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a translucent garnet hue with an elegant ruby rim, hinting at both youth and classic Nebbiolo character. The nose opens with red cherry, wild strawberry, rose petal, licorice, and subtle earthy notes, with a mineral edge that reflects its terroir. The palate is precise and layered, with firm but refined tannins, bright acidity, and a core of red fruit supported by savory spice, dried herbs, and a long, structured finish. This is a wine built for aging, and while approachable with proper decanting now, it should continue to evolve beautifully over many years.

Production
This wine comes from the Lazzarito cru in Serralunga d’Alba, one of Barolo’s most distinctive terroirs, known for its limestone- and clay-rich soils and naturally powerful, age-worthy wines. Grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness, then vinified with care to preserve Nebbiolo’s aromatic detail and structure, followed by maturation in oak to integrate the wine’s tannins and deepen complexity.

Food & Serving
A great match for braised beef, roast lamb, wild mushroom risotto, truffle dishes, and aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours if drinking young to help the wine open up and soften its structure.
