Description

Feudi di San Gregorio’s Falanghina del Sannio is a fresh, aromatic white wine that captures the bright, mineral character of Campania’s native Falanghina grape. The 2025 vintage offers an appealing combination of citrus freshness, floral lift and a clean, energetic finish, making it an excellent introduction to the white wines of southern Italy. Falanghina has ancient roots in Campania and remains one of the region’s most distinctive indigenous varieties.

Tasting Notes
Pale straw-yellow in appearance, this wine shows a bright, youthful profile. The nose is fragrant and inviting, with aromas of white flowers, citrus fruit, green apple and delicate herbal notes, complemented by a subtle mineral character. On the palate, it is crisp and refreshing, with flavours of lemon, grapefruit, pear and fresh orchard fruit. Lively acidity gives the wine structure, while a clean, lightly saline finish adds to its sense of place. It is best enjoyed young for its freshness, typically within two to three years of the vintage.

Production
The grapes come from the Sannio area of Campania, where a Mediterranean climate, hillside vineyards and mineral-rich soils help preserve Falanghina’s natural acidity and aromatic character. Falanghina is generally harvested when the grapes have reached a balance between ripe fruit and vibrant freshness. Following gentle pressing, the wine is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks to preserve its delicate aromas and bright, fruit-driven style. It is then kept on its fine lees for a short period before bottling.

Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Its lively acidity and citrus-led character make it a natural partner for seafood, grilled prawns, oysters, calamari and shellfish pasta, while its freshness also complements salads, soft cheeses, sushi and light poultry dishes. Decanting is not necessary; simply open shortly before serving or pour into a white-wine glass to allow the aromas to develop.

Producer
Founded in 1986, Feudi di San Gregorio has played a major role in raising the profile of Campania’s indigenous grape varieties, including Falanghina, Fiano and Greco. Based in the Irpinia area, the winery combines a strong focus on local identity with modern winemaking and distinctive contemporary design. Its wines are widely recognised for expressing the character of southern Italy while maintaining precision, freshness and international appeal.
