Description

Feudi San Gregorio Dubl Rosé Edition is a sophisticated Metodo Classico sparkling rosé that reimagines the noble Aglianico grape through a contemporary, design‑driven lens. Crafted in the cool, high-altitude hills of Irpinia in Campania, it marries southern Italian character with Champagne-like precision and finesse. Developed in collaboration with famed Champagne grower Anselme Selosse, this cuvée showcases the striking minerality and freshness that make Aglianico an unexpected star for premium sparkling wines.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Dubl Rosé Edition shows a delicate, luminous pink hue with fine, persistent bubbles that form an elegant, creamy mousse. The color hints at gentle extraction from Aglianico, preserving both vibrancy and finesse. The nose is refined and expressive, offering notes of wild red berries—think pomegranate, wild strawberry, and red currant—wrapped in hints of rose petals, citrus zest, and a distinct chalky, volcanic minerality. Subtle nuances of brioche and pastry cream from the traditional-method aging add complexity without weighing the wine down. On the palate, this rosé is dry, lively, and beautifully balanced, combining the firm structure of Aglianico with graceful acidity and a saline, mineral backbone. Flavors of fresh raspberry, blood orange, and cranberry mingle with delicate savory notes and a touch of spice. The bead is fine and precise, leading to a long, clean finish that feels both crisp and subtly creamy. Enjoyable now for its vibrant fruit and tension, it also has the structure to develop additional complexity over the next 3–5 years, gaining more autolytic notes and depth with time on cork.

Production
Dubl Rosé Edition is born in Irpinia, a mountainous subregion of Campania defined by high elevations, strong winds, generous rainfall, and volcanic, mineral-rich soils—an unexpected, almost Alpine pocket of Southern Italy. The Aglianico grapes are carefully selected and harvested by hand to preserve freshness and purity of fruit, with meticulous sorting in the cellar to ensure only the best clusters are used. Crafted using Metodo Classico, the base wine undergoes a gentle press to achieve the desired pale rosé color, followed by primary fermentation under temperature control to retain aromatics. The wine then undergoes its second fermentation in bottle, resting on the lees for an extended period to build texture, complexity, and a fine, persistent perlage before riddling, disgorgement, and a carefully judged dosage.

Food & Serving
This refined sparkling rosé is a versatile partner at the table. It pairs beautifully with crudo, oysters, and shellfish, as well as tuna tartare, sushi, and delicate seafood risottos. Its structure and acidity also make it a great match for charcuterie, prosciutto, soft cheeses, and light poultry or veal dishes, as well as Mediterranean starters such as grilled vegetables or tomato-based appetizers. Serve well-chilled at around 8–10°C (46–50°F). A brief 5–10 minutes in the glass is enough for the wine to open and reveal its full aromatic profile; prolonged decanting is not recommended, as it may diminish the delicacy of the bubbles.

Producer
Dubl is the sparkling wine project of Feudi di San Gregorio, a pioneering winery that has played a central role in the renaissance of Campania’s indigenous varieties such as Aglianico, Greco, and Fiano. Launched about two decades ago with the vision of expressing these native grapes through Metodo Classico, Dubl enlisted the expertise of renowned Champagne vigneron Anselme Selosse, whose influence helped shape an entirely new category of southern Italian sparkling wines. Based in Irpinia, Feudi di San Gregorio is one of the region’s most respected producers, known for its combination of tradition, architectural flair, and forward-thinking viticulture. Dubl’s striking bottle designs by Italian design icons Massimo Vignelli (DUBL Edition) and Fabio Novembre (DUBL Esse), along with its B Corp and Equalitas certifications earned in 2022, underline the project’s commitment to creativity, sustainability, and quality at the highest level.
