Ferrero Langhe Nebbiolo 2020

Ferrero Langhe Nebbiolo 2020 is a small-production Piedmont red that offers much of the character of Barolo in a more approachable, early-drinking style. Crafted from Nebbiolo by Fratelli Ferrero, it combines traditional winemaking, careful maturation in large oak, and the layered perfume that has made Langhe Nebbiolo one of Italy’s most admired expressions of the grape.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a bright garnet-red hue, hinting at its Nebbiolo backbone and youthful energy. The bouquet is classic and expressive, with aromas of roses, tar, juniper, leather, pipe tobacco, forest floor, truffle, and dried flowers. On the palate, Ferrero Langhe Nebbiolo 2020 is firm yet generous, delivering red berry flavors such as strawberry, cherry, and sloe, along with plum and a subtle touch of licorice. It is concentrated and structured, with enough depth to develop further in bottle, though it is also more accessible in its youth than many Barolo wines.

Production
Sourced from Piemonte in northwestern Italy, this wine reflects the region’s cool climate and the distinctive terroir that gives Nebbiolo its perfume, structure, and finesse. Fermented and aged in a traditional style, it matures in large oak casks made from both French and Slovenian oak, allowing the wine to evolve without overwhelming the fruit with too much new wood.

This is a natural partner for rich, savory dishes such as braised beef, roast lamb, game, mushroom risotto, and truffle-based recipes. It also works beautifully with aged cheeses and spicy, hearty pasta dishes. Serve at 16–18°C; decanting for about 30–60 minutes is recommended, especially if opened young.
