Description
Ferrari Maximum Brut is a refined Italian sparkling wine from Trentino, presented in an elegant gift box. Made exclusively from high-altitude Chardonnay and crafted according to the traditional method, it combines the freshness of the Alps with the richness and complexity usually associated with fine Champagne. Its story began with Giulio Ferrari, a pioneer who first recognised the potential of Chardonnay in Italy more than a century ago.
Tasting Notes
The wine shows a bright straw-yellow colour with a fine, persistent mousse. Its intense bouquet reveals ripe fruit, toasted hazelnut and freshly baked bread, reflecting the extended time spent ageing on the lees. On the palate, it is fresh and well-balanced, with a lively texture and a refined finish marked by citrus fruit and delicate mineral notes.
Ferrari Maximum Brut is enjoyable now for its freshness and harmony, but its structure and lees ageing also allow it to develop additional toasty and nutty complexity over the next few years when stored in a cool, dark place.
Production
Produced exclusively from Chardonnay grown in the high-altitude vineyards of Trentino, the wine benefits from cool mountain conditions that help preserve its natural acidity and aromatic precision. Ferrari follows sustainable cultivation methods and harvests the grapes with care before vinifying the wine according to the traditional method. It matures for 36 months on its lees, allowing the wine to gain depth, texture and fine autolytic character while retaining its Alpine freshness.
Food & Serving
Serve well chilled at approximately 8–10°C. Ferrari Maximum Brut is a versatile aperitif and pairs beautifully with oysters, shellfish, sushi, fried seafood and delicate fish dishes, while its nutty and bread-like notes also complement soft cheeses and lightly cured meats. Decanting is not recommended; pour gently into properly shaped sparkling-wine glasses to preserve the mousse and aromas.
Producer
The Ferrari story began in 1902, when Giulio Ferrari set out to create a Trentino sparkling wine capable of competing with the finest French Champagnes. A true pioneer, he was among the first producers in Italy to plant Chardonnay on a significant scale and devoted himself to making a small number of exceptionally crafted bottles. Today, the third generation of the Lunelli family continues his vision, combining tradition, innovation and a deep respect for the land. All Ferrari wines are Trento DOC and are made exclusively from grapes grown in Trentino, establishing the estate as one of the region’s leading ambassadors for Italian metodo classico sparkling wine.
