Description
Farnese Edizione Cinque Autoctoni is a signature Italian red that brings together five indigenous grapes from southern and central Italy in a bold, characterful blend. Crafted by Farnese Vini, it stands out for its depth, richness, and modern style, while still reflecting the heritage of classic Italian winemaking.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a beautiful garnet-red color. The nose is layered and expressive, with ripe cherries, plums, and blackcurrants lifted by hints of tobacco and toast.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and generous, with polished tannins and a soft, fruit-driven core. Notes of vanilla and chocolate carry through the long finish, giving the wine both warmth and elegance. Thanks to its structure and concentration, it has good aging potential and will continue to evolve nicely over time.
Production
This wine is made from a blend of Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Primitivo, Negroamaro, and Malvasia Nera, sourced from Puglia and surrounding Italian terroirs. The grapes are vinified to preserve their ripe fruit character, with malolactic fermentation taking place in barriques, followed by 13 months of maturation to build complexity, texture, and depth.
Food & Serving
A great match for rich starters, grilled or roasted red meat, and bold, spicy cheeses. Serve at around 16-18°C for the best balance of fruit and structure, and decanting for about 30-60 minutes is recommended to let the aromas open fully.
