Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep, garnet-tinged ruby colour with impressive concentration. The nose is layered and polished, with notes of ripe black cherry, plum, blackberry, and violets, alongside cedar, graphite, subtle spice, and a hint of truffle or tobacco as it opens. The palate is generous yet finely controlled, with velvety tannins, vibrant freshness, and a long, harmonious finish. Merlot brings volume and silkiness, while Cabernet Franc adds aromatic lift and tension. This is a wine with excellent aging potential, likely to evolve beautifully over the next 15–25 years, gaining complexity and nuance with time.

L’Évangile is situated in Pomerol on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, where gravel and clay-rich soils help create wines with both depth and finesse. The estate’s terroir is especially well suited to Merlot, which dominates the blend, while Cabernet Franc contributes structure and aromatic precision. Grapes are typically harvested by hand, with careful selection to ensure only the best fruit is retained, followed by traditional vinification and aging in oak barrels to enhance complexity and texture.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with dishes such as roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, wild mushroom risotto, or truffle-infused cuisine. It should be served at around 16–18°C for the best expression of its aromas and structure. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended when young, especially if you want to soften the tannins and allow the bouquet to fully open.
