Esporão Reserva Branco 2024 is a beautifully expressive white wine from one of Portugal’s most respected estates, offering generous fruit, subtle oak complexity, and a wonderfully polished texture. Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a straw-yellow color with a greenish glint, hinting at its freshness and vibrancy. The nose is immediately inviting, with layers of peach, mandarin, lemon, and grapefruit, lifted by gentle spice and a lightly toasted oak note that adds depth without overpowering the fruit. The palate is creamy and rounded, with ripe fruit at the core and a distinct mineral edge that keeps the wine precise and balanced. It finishes long, aromatic, and fresh, making it a white wine with both immediate charm and the structure to evolve nicely over the next few years.

Production
This Reserva Branco comes from Alentejo, a region known for hot summer days, cool nights, and very cold winters by Portuguese standards, conditions that help preserve freshness and aromatic intensity. The volcanic soils and local grape varieties contribute to the wine’s original character, while careful organic vineyard management and thoughtful vinification at Esporão ensure purity, balance, and finesse.

Food & Serving
A versatile wine for long lunches, aperitifs, and elegant fish dishes. It pairs especially well with sea bass, turbot, haddock, grilled fish, and dishes with a fruity or Asian influence such as Thai wok with pineapple or salads with stone fruit. Serve chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, and decanting is not necessary.

Producer
Esporão is one of Portugal’s most important wine producers, with a history linked to the estate itself dating back to the Bronze Age and wine exports already taking place during the Roman era. The modern winery was built in 1985, followed by a dedicated white-wine facility in 2002, and the estate also produces high-quality olive oil. Today, Esporão is known for its commitment to organic farming and welcomes more than 50,000 visitors each year.
