Elena Walch’s Chardonnay Riserva Castel Ringberg is a single-vineyard white wine from one of Alto Adige’s most prestigious estates. Crafted from optimally ripened Chardonnay and given extended lees ageing in French oak, it combines generous texture and subtle richness with the freshness and precision characteristic of the region’s mountain wines.

Tasting Notes
The wine displays a luminous golden colour. Its expressive bouquet reveals exotic fruit, toasted almonds and delicate hints of honey, complemented by refined oak nuances. On the palate, it is fresh and focused, with beautifully clean acidity balanced by a creamy texture and impressive depth. The finish is elegant and persistent, and the wine should develop further complexity over the next several years when stored carefully.

Production
The grapes come from Castel Ringberg, Elena Walch’s renowned single estate in Alto Adige. The vineyard benefits from excellent sun exposure and well-draining soils, helping the Chardonnay achieve optimal ripeness while retaining freshness. After careful harvesting at the ideal stage of maturity, fermentation takes place in French oak barrels. The wine then matures on its fine lees for 10 months, gaining complexity and creaminess, before spending several additional months in bottle prior to release.

Food & Serving
This full-bodied yet lively Chardonnay pairs beautifully with roasted or grilled fish, shellfish, poultry in creamy sauces and veal. It also complements risotto, creamy pasta dishes and mature, delicately flavoured cheeses. Serve lightly chilled at around 10–12°C. Decanting is not essential, but allowing the wine to breathe in a glass or carafe for 20–30 minutes can reveal additional aromatic depth.
