Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright garnet-red hue with the translucent brilliance typical of great Nebbiolo. The nose is layered and expressive, with notes of red cherry, wild strawberry, rose petals, dried herbs, licorice, and subtle spice, gradually opening with air to reveal earthy and mineral nuances. On the palate, the wine is structured yet polished, with firm, fine-grained tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, persistent finish marked by red fruit, savory complexity, and floral lift. While already compelling in its youth, Via Nuova has excellent aging potential and will continue to gain depth and harmony over many years in bottle.

Production
Via Nuova is sourced from carefully selected Nebbiolo parcels in the Barolo zone of Piedmont, where calcareous marl soils, hillside exposure, and a cool continental climate contribute to the grape’s aromatic precision and natural structure. Harvesting is typically done by hand to preserve fruit quality and ensure only the best clusters are brought to the cellar. Vinification follows a meticulous, quality-focused approach designed to preserve purity of fruit and the distinctive character of the vineyard sites. Fermentation and aging are carried out with attention to balance and elegance, resulting in a Barolo that is both expressive and composed.

Food & Serving
This Barolo is a natural match for braised beef, roast lamb, truffle dishes, mushroom risotto, game, and aged hard cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano or Pecorino. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours when young to allow the aromas and texture to fully unfold.
