Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows the deep, translucent garnet typical of fine Nebbiolo. The nose is more floral and savory than overtly fruity, with blue flowers, grilled herbs, rosemary, anis, and a distinct note of powdered stone that gives the bouquet a cool, stony edge. The palate is linear and structured, with a sleek mineral profile and tannins that feel finely grained and chalky rather than forceful. Cool-climate fruit from the Mosconi cru brings freshness and definition, while the balance of tension and fragrance suggests excellent aging potential over the next decade and beyond.

Production
Mosconi sits in Monforte d’Alba at around 370 meters above sea level, where the cooler exposure helps preserve freshness and aromatic lift in Nebbiolo. The vineyard’s terroir lends the wine its firm architecture and mineral tension, giving it a more linear expression compared with the producer’s Cannubi bottling. Only about 9,000 bottles were produced from the 2021 vintage.

Food & Serving
This Barolo is a natural match for rich, savory dishes such as braised beef, osso buco, roasted game, truffle risotto, or aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C to best show its perfume and structure. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended, especially if enjoyed young, to let the aromatics open and the tannins soften.
