Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a vivid ruby color with impressive clarity. The nose is expressive and nuanced, offering red and dark berries, cherry, anise, pine, and floral spice, with each element unfolding gradually in the glass. The palate is detailed and energetic, with flavors of cherry, blackberry, orange peel, and savory spice carried by fine tannins and bright acidity. There is real depth here, but also tension and finesse, giving the wine a long, persistent finish. Enjoy now for its vibrant fruit, or cellar it over the next 8–10 years to gain added complexity.

Production
This wine is sourced from five vineyards across Russian River Valley—Occidental Road, Dutton-Upp Road, Flax Estate, DuMOL Estate, and Placida—bringing together different subregions for depth, freshness, and complexity. Average vine age is around 18 years, and the blend includes several Pinot Noir clones, including Calera, Swan, Pommard, and Dijon. The wine matured for 15 months in French oak barrels, 28% of which were new, and total production was limited to 4,900 cases.

Food & Serving
This Pinot Noir is an excellent match for roast duck, herb-crusted salmon, mushroom risotto, grilled poultry, and earthy vegetable dishes. Serve slightly chilled at around 16–18°C, and consider a brief decant if opening young to help the aromatics open up.
