DuMOL’s Meteor Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a striking example of Napa elegance with real depth and power. Sourced from two distinct parcels in Coombsville, it combines cool-climate finesse with the ripeness Cabernet Sauvignon needs to truly shine, echoing the structure and poise of great Saint-Julien.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a beautiful garnet-red hue. The nose opens with fresh-picked blackberries, cassis, dried spices, pencil lead, tobacco, and a subtle earthy complexity. On the palate, the wine is large-scaled and muscular, yet polished, with layers of dark cherry, blackberry, black currant, cocoa, tobacco, and anise. The finish is long, flavorful, and compelling, with the kind of persistence that invites another sip. While already approachable, it has the structure and concentration to age gracefully for at least another 20 years.

Production
Meteor Vineyard sits in Napa’s cool Coombsville region, where the climate is moderated enough to preserve freshness while still allowing Cabernet Sauvignon to reach full expression. Winemaker Andy Smith blends fruit from two separate parcels within the vineyard to build the wine’s signature character and balance. The wine was matured for 20 months in French oak barrels, 55% of which were new, lending complexity, fine-grained tannins, and subtle oak spice without overpowering the fruit.

Food & Serving
This Cabernet Sauvignon is a natural match for grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, roast lamb, venison, or dishes with mushrooms and truffle. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if opening young to let the wine fully unfold.
