Description
Dujac Fils & Père Puligny-Montrachet 2008 is a beautifully poised white Burgundy from one of the region’s most respected names. Sourced from classic Puligny limestone and clay soils, it captures the village’s signature purity, finesse, and mineral precision, while the cool 2008 vintage adds extra tension and freshness.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows a pale golden hue. The nose opens with citrus, green apple, and white flowers, layered with subtle toasted notes from the oak.
The palate is bright, structured, and distinctly mineral, with lively acidity driving length and energy. There is a graceful balance between creamy depth and taut freshness, and the wine now shows pleasing maturity while still retaining enough vitality to continue evolving well over the next few years.
Production
The grapes come from classic Puligny-Montrachet terroir, where chalky limestone and clay soils lend Chardonnay its hallmark mineral edge and precision. The fruit is harvested by hand, then gently pressed before fermentation in oak barrels, including a modest proportion of new oak to add texture and complexity without masking the wine’s clarity.
Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for fine fish, lobster, scallops, roast chicken, and cream-based sauces, as well as aged Comté or other delicate hard cheeses. Serve at around 10–12°C. Decanting is not essential, but a short aeration can help the wine open up if it has been stored for some time.
Producer
Domaine Dujac is one of Burgundy’s most admired estates, known for its meticulous farming and elegant, terroir-driven wines. The Fils & Père label reflects the Morey-Saint-Denis family domaine’s tradition and savoir-faire, with a strong reputation for crafting refined wines that age gracefully and express their origins with clarity. The estate has earned widespread recognition for both its red and white Burgundy benchmarks.
