Tasting Notes
In the glass, this wine shows a deep ruby hue with a graceful, mature edge. The nose opens with layered aromas of black cherry, wild blackberry, forest floor, truffle, and a subtle touch of spice, all framed by a fine mineral core and well-judged oak. On the palate, it is silky and harmonious, with ripe fruit now evolving toward more savory, earthy nuances. The tannins are fully integrated, the acidity remains lively, and the finish is long, precise, and distinctly mineral. With over a decade of age, it is in a beautiful drinking window now, though it still has the structure to hold for a few more years.

Production
Lavaux St. Jacques comes from Dugat-Py’s parcels in the prestigious 1er Cru vineyard of Gevrey-Chambertin, planted on old vines rooted in limestone and clay soils. The grapes are hand-harvested with strict sorting, then fermented in small open vats before being matured for around 18 months in new oak barrels, a regime that builds structure while preserving the wine’s natural elegance and terroir expression.

Food & Serving
This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with roast duck, game birds, seared pigeon, mushroom dishes, and aged cheeses such as Comté or Époisses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant gently for 30–60 minutes if opening now, especially to help the wine fully unfold after its time in bottle.
