Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, polished ruby hue with the kind of clarity and depth that hint at both concentration and refinement. The nose opens with ripe cherry, forest floor, spice, and a subtle smoky note, gradually revealing more layered aromatic complexity as it breathes. On the palate, the wine is elegant yet structured, with dark red fruit, fine-grained tannins, and a fresh, precise acidity that keeps everything lifted and balanced. After roughly ten years of development, the 2013 vintage is entering a beautiful phase of harmony, and it should continue to age gracefully for many more years, gaining further nuance and silkiness.

Production
This Grand Cru comes from the upper parcels of Charmes-Chambertin, where Dugat-Py’s old Pinot Noir vines grow in limestone- and clay-rich soils that help combine concentration with finesse. The grapes are harvested by hand with extremely strict selection, then fermented in small open vats before maturing for around 18 months in new oak barrels, a regimen that adds structure and aromatic depth without overpowering the wine’s natural terroir expression.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for refined dishes such as roast duck, pigeon, venison, beef fillet, or mushroom-based plates, especially those with earthy sauces or truffle accents. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and decant gently for 1–2 hours if opening now, particularly to allow the wine’s aromatic layers and texture to fully unfold.
