Dugat-Py Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2006 is a refined expression of one of Burgundy’s most celebrated sites, made from old vines in the upper parcels of Charmes-Chambertin. It combines the depth and structure you expect from a Grand Cru with the elegance and precision that have made Dugat-Py such a respected name in the region.

Tasting Notes
This 2006 shows a deep ruby hue with the first signs of mature development at the rim. Aromas open with dark cherry, blackberry, forest floor, and subtle spice, layered with earthy and mineral nuances that reflect the vineyard’s character. On the palate, the wine is beautifully balanced, with concentrated fruit, silky tannins, and fresh, persistent acidity. The finish is long and mineral-driven, with a harmonious, polished feel that suggests it is at an excellent stage now, while still retaining the structure to age a little longer if desired.

Production
The wine comes from the upper parcels of Charmes-Chambertin, where old Pinot Noir vines grow in limestone- and clay-rich soils that bring both finesse and concentration. Grapes are harvested by hand with strict selection, then fermented in small open vats before being aged for around 18 months in new oak barrels, a method that adds depth and structure while preserving the site’s elegance.

Food & Serving
This Grand Cru pairs wonderfully with roasted duck, game birds, beef tenderloin, truffle dishes, or braised mushrooms. Serve at around 16–18°C and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if the bottle has been recently opened, especially to help the aromas fully unfold.
