Tasting Notes
Now fully developed, the wine shows a deep, evolved character rather than youthful fruit. Expect aromas of dried cherry, forest floor, truffle, subtle spice, and a refined mineral edge, all carried by the complex, layered profile that comes with age. On the palate, it is silky and graceful, with fully integrated tannins, still-vibrant acidity, and a long, mineral finish. The 1999 vintage has given the wine generous ripeness, but the structure remains elegant and balanced. It is at a very fine drinking stage now, though its harmony and concentration allow it to continue holding well for near-term enjoyment.

Production
The fruit comes from the upper parcels of Charmes-Chambertin, where old Pinot Noir vines grow in limestone- and clay-rich soils that bring both concentration and finesse. The grapes are harvested by hand with strict sorting, then fermented in small open vats before spending around 18 months in new oak barrels. This careful approach preserves the vineyard’s character while adding depth and polish.

Food & Serving
Serve at around 16–18°C and decant gently if needed, especially if the bottle has been resting for some time. It pairs beautifully with dishes that echo its earthy, savory profile, such as roast duck, pigeon, game birds, mushroom risotto, truffle dishes, or well-aged cheeses.
