Description

Dr. Heidemanns Bergweiler (Zach. Prüm Erben) Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese Goldkapsel 1976 is a rare Mosel treasure, offering one of Riesling’s most noble and concentrated expressions. Crafted from exceptional botrytized fruit and matured in a château cellar since release, it combines historical significance, remarkable sweetness, and the finesse that defines great Mosel wines.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep golden hue that hints at its maturity and richness. The bouquet is intensely layered, with aromas of ripe stone fruit, honey, candied citrus, and warm spice, unfolding with notes of dried apricot, marmalade, and a subtle floral lift. The palate is lush and full-bodied, yet beautifully balanced by the Mosel’s signature acidity, keeping the sweetness vibrant rather than heavy. The finish is long, elegant, and persistent, with a refined mineral edge. This is a wine with excellent longevity, and though fully mature, it should continue to hold gracefully for years if stored well.

Production
Sourced from the renowned Graacher Himmelreich vineyard in the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region, the wine benefits from steep slate slopes and a cool climate that are ideal for Riesling. The site’s exposure and mineral-rich soils help create grapes with exceptional aromatic purity and natural acidity, while the Trockenbeerenauslese classification reflects hand-selection of shriveled, botrytized berries in a great vintage. The result is an intensely concentrated dessert wine vinified for precision, balance, and long aging potential.

Food & Serving
Best enjoyed lightly chilled at around 8–10°C, this wine pairs beautifully with fruit-based desserts, blue cheese, foie gras, or simply as a contemplative wine on its own. Decanting is not essential, but allowing it a little time in the glass will help reveal its full aromatic complexity.

Producer
Dr. Heidemanns Bergweiler, part of the Zach. Prüm Erben lineage, carries forward one of the Mosel’s most respected winemaking traditions. The Prüm family name is deeply associated with world-class Riesling, and their reputation has long been built on precision, site expression, and exceptional sweet wines. This bottle reflects that heritage, offering collectors a wine of both pedigree and rarity.
