Dopff & Irion Château Riquewihr Riesling d'Alsace Grand Cru Schoenenbourg is a compelling expression of one of Alsace’s most respected terroirs. Made from 100% Riesling and crafted by Maison AM & Cave de Pfaff, it combines concentration, finesse, and the unmistakable Grand Cru character that has made Schoenenbourg famous.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, brilliant golden colour that hints at its richness and complexity. The nose is layered and expressive, with aromas of apricot, yellow and white fruits, delicate spice, curry, saffron, ginger, and a subtle touch of incense. On the palate, the wine is broad, harmonious, and beautifully structured, with ripe fruit balanced by vibrant freshness and a spicy, persistent finish. This is a wine with excellent aging potential, likely to gain further depth and nuance over time.

Production
Schoenenbourg is a Grand Cru site in Alsace known for its marl, gypsum, and sandstone-rich soils, which give Riesling both power and precision. The wine is aged on fine lees for six months, followed by an additional six months in cask before bottling, a careful élevage that adds texture, complexity, and balance.

Food & Serving
This Riesling is an excellent match for fish, shellfish, and a wide range of cheeses, especially those with strong or creamy profiles. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C; decanting is not usually necessary, though a short aeration may help if opening young.
