Tasting Notes
The wine opens with a cool, shimmering profile of wet stone, slate, and salty mineral lift, rather than overtly fruity aromas. Beneath that, citrus and stone fruit emerge with remarkable clarity, giving the nose both freshness and tension. On the palate, the citrus core is vivid and precise, framed by an unmistakable stony depth that feels both powerful and restrained. The finish is long, straight, and pure, with lemony linearity and a dry, saline edge. This is a wine built for aging, and it should gain even more complexity and harmony over time.

Production
Hermannshöhle is a steep, slate-rich site in Niederhausen, where the soils and microclimate help produce Riesling with tension, perfume, and striking mineral definition. The grapes are carefully harvested to preserve purity and freshness, and the vinification is designed to emphasize finesse, structure, and the vineyard’s natural expression rather than overt winemaking influence.

This is a superb match for refined seafood, shellfish, sushi, roast poultry, or dishes with citrus, herbs, and subtle cream sauces. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and consider brief decanting if young to help the wine open up and show its full aromatic detail.
