Donnafugata Sherazade is a vibrant Sicilian red made from 100% Nero d’Avola, the island’s signature native grape. Named after the legendary storyteller from The Arabian Nights, it captures the warm, expressive spirit of Sicily in a modern, approachable style.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Sherazade shows a clear ruby-red color with delicate violet reflections. The nose is immediately inviting, with aromas of raspberry and cherry lifted by spicy and balsamic nuances. On the palate, the fruit-forward character continues, framed by remarkable softness and freshness. Its refined tannins give the wine shape and balance, while the overall profile remains smooth, lively, and easy to enjoy. It is best appreciated young for its bright fruit and energy, though it can hold nicely for a few years.

Production
Sherazade is produced in Sicily from carefully selected Nero d’Avola grapes, a variety that is deeply rooted in the island’s terroir and widely regarded as its most distinctive red grape. The wine is matured for around four months in tank, then aged in bottle for at least another eight months to preserve its freshness and fruit expression while adding polish and harmony.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with Mediterranean dishes, grilled meats, roasted vegetables, pasta with tomato-based sauces, and Sicilian specialties such as eggplant dishes or arancini. Serve it slightly below room temperature, ideally around 16–18°C, and decanting is generally not necessary.
