Donnafugata Mille e una Notte 2021 is one of the estate’s iconic wines, a powerful and elegant Sicilian red inspired by the magic and grandeur of the legendary tales of One Thousand and One Nights. Made primarily from Nero d’Avola with complementary grapes such as Petit Verdot and Syrah, it captures both the richness of Sicily and the refined style that has made Donnafugata one of Italy’s most admired producers.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Mille e una Notte shows a deep, насыщенный ruby color that hints at its concentration and depth. The bouquet is expressive and layered, with aromas of ripe berries, blackberry, plum, balsamic notes, and sweet spice, unfolding beautifully with time in the glass. The palate is full-bodied and intense, yet polished, with soft tannins and a long, persistent finish. The wine balances dark fruit richness with savory complexity and oak-derived spice, giving it both immediate appeal and the structure to age gracefully for several years.

Production
This wine is crafted from carefully hand-selected grapes, both in the vineyard and again in the cellar to ensure only the best fruit is used. The blend is led by Nero d’Avola, supported by Petit Verdot and Syrah, and fermented in stainless steel before maturing for 13–14 months in new French oak. It then spends at least another 24 months refining in bottle, allowing the wine to gain harmony, depth, and complexity.

Food & Serving
Best enjoyed with roasted or slow-cooked meats, lamb leg, pork stew, or tournedos. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant well in advance to allow the aromas and structure to fully open up.
