Tasting Notes
The wine shows a deep, dark purple colour. Its aromatic profile is layered and expressive, with notes of forest floor and undergrowth alongside dark fruits, coffee and warming spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied, rich and generous, with an impressive sense of depth and a captivatingly long finish. Firm tannins provide definition and promise further development in bottle, while the wine’s concentration and structure suggest that patience will be rewarded. It can be enjoyed now with decanting, but should evolve beautifully over the coming years.

Production
Clos de Vougeot is one of Burgundy’s most historically significant vineyards, enclosed by its famous stone walls and shaped by the varied soils of the Côte de Nuits. The wine is matured for an average of 18 months in new oak barrels, giving additional depth and spice while supporting its robust structure. Specific harvesting and vinification details are not provided, but the finished style is traditionally structured, fruit-driven and firmly rooted in its Burgundian origin.

Food & Serving
This powerful and structured Pinot Noir is well suited to both refined and rustic roasted dishes. Try it with roast beef, lamb, duck or richly prepared game, while more delicate game dishes can also complement its combination of fruit, savoury depth and freshness. Serve slightly cool, around 16–18°C, and decant for approximately 30 minutes to two hours before serving, depending on its stage of development.

Domaine Tortochot has been in the Tortochot family for four generations, with the family’s winemaking roots in Gevrey stretching back to the 19th century. Today, the estate is led by Chantal Tortochot, a trained oenologist and great-granddaughter of Paul Tortochot, who continues the family tradition while focusing on wines that express their terroir. The domaine is recognised as one of the notable estates of Gevrey-Chambertin, producing Pinot Noir with generous fruit, pronounced tannins and the patience required for classic Burgundy.
