Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows a bright, luminous pale gold hue. The nose is vibrant and layered, with citrus, green and yellow apple, white peach, and pomelo, lifted by a subtle mineral edge and a hint of cool, creamy butter. The palate balances generosity with tension: there is lovely mid-palate richness, refreshing acidity, and a saline, stony backbone that keeps everything focused. Sylvain Morey’s signature mineral style gives the wine energy and clarity, while the creamy texture from oak aging adds depth. It should age gracefully for several years, gaining complexity and nuance with time.

Production
Les Charmois sits close to the boundary of Chassagne-Montrachet and shares a similar terroir, which helps explain the wine’s combination of breadth, intensity, and finesse. The grapes are harvested by hand, whole clusters are gently pressed, and fermentation occurs spontaneously. The wine is then aged for 18 months in 350-liter barrels, with 20% new oak, allowing the site’s character to remain at the forefront while adding texture and subtle complexity.

Food & Serving
Serve at 12–14°C in a large Burgundy glass, and give the wine a good swirl to help it open up. It pairs especially well with baked white fish, roast poultry in creamy sauces, and soft, creamy cheeses.
