Domaine Sylvain Dussort’s Bourgogne Rouge Côte d'Or 2022 is a beautifully aromatic Pinot Noir that captures the silkier, more seductive side of Burgundy. Sourced from three parcels in the northern end of Meursault, close to Volnay, it brings together red-fruited purity, floral charm, and a refined sense of place that feels unmistakably Burgundian.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this 2022 shows a bright, translucent ruby hue that hints at its elegance rather than power. The nose is lifted and expressive, with red cherries, ripe strawberries, wild roses, violets, wet forest floor, dried herbs, and a subtle spicy edge. On the palate, it is airy yet ripe, with sweet cherry, dried raspberry, herbal stems, rose perfume, and layers of woodland earth, liquorice root, and crushed stone. The tannins are smooth and melting, while the fresh acidity keeps everything energized and precise. It already drinks with great pleasure, but will continue to develop additional nuance over the next 3–5 years.

Production
The fruit comes from three parcels at the northern edge of Meursault, in a zone where the soils are more clay-rich and particularly well suited to Pinot Noir. The grapes are hand-harvested from vines averaging around 30 years of age, then fully destemmed on arrival at the winery. After a three-day cold maceration, fermentation takes place in open wooden vats over approximately 10 days, followed by 12 months of ageing in a mix of large and small barrels, with about 20% new oak before final blending.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for roast poultry, duck breast, chicken with mushrooms, veal, pork tenderloin, or earthy vegetarian dishes such as mushroom tart or lentil-based recipes. Serve slightly cool, ideally around 15–17°C, and consider a short decant of 20–30 minutes if opening young to let the floral and red-fruited aromatics unfold.
