Tasting Notes

Production
Domaine Roulot works across carefully selected vineyard sites in Meursault, in the Côte de Beaune of Burgundy, where limestone-rich soils and a cool continental climate help shape wines of tension and texture. The estate’s vineyards have been converted to organic farming, with biodynamic principles also influencing the approach, all in the service of preserving terroir expression. Harvesting is carried out with close attention to ripeness and fruit quality, and the vinification is handled with the house’s hallmark restraint to preserve freshness, precision, and site character. The result is a Chardonnay that reflects both the mineral identity of Meursault and the meticulous philosophy of the producer.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as roast chicken with cream sauce, turbot, lobster, seared scallops, mushroom risotto, or poultry with butter and herbs. It is also excellent with soft-ripened cheeses and lightly seasoned shellfish. Serve at around 10–12°C, and decanting is usually unnecessary unless the bottle is quite young and you wish to open it up a little before serving.

Founded in 1830 and family-owned ever since, Domaine Roulot has become one of the benchmark producers in Meursault. Under Jean-Marc Roulot, who took over in 1989 alongside his sister Michelle, the estate has risen to the very top tier of Burgundy white wine production, earning an enviable reputation for precision, scarcity, and consistency. Today, with around 15 hectares under organic conversion, the domaine is admired for wines that express Meursault’s terroir with rare purity and finesse.
