Description
Domaine Roger Belland Maranges 1er Cru Clos Roussots 2023 is a finely crafted Pinot Noir from one of the most characterful Premier Cru sites in the southern reaches of Burgundy. Sourced from the steep slopes of Clos Roussots, it combines elegance, freshness and site-driven complexity, with a style that reflects both the finesse of Côte de Beaune and the historical reputation of Maranges for distinctive, terroir-led red wines.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-red color with impressive clarity. The nose opens with vibrant red berry aromas—cherry and raspberry at the fore—layered with subtle notes of forest floor, gentle spice and a touch of toasted oak from aging.
The palate is elegant and finely structured, with silky tannins, bright acidity and a long, mineral finish. The balance between ripe fruit, freshness and a clear sense of place gives it real presence now, while also suggesting good development over the next several years.
Production
The wine comes from Clos Roussots, a respected Premier Cru vineyard on steep slopes in Maranges, where the cooler climate and limestone-rich Burgundy soils help preserve freshness and precision in Pinot Noir. The grapes are vinified with careful attention to expressing the vineyard’s character, then matured for 10–12 months in a mix of new and used oak barrels to add subtle complexity without overpowering the fruit.
Food & Serving
This is a natural match for roast duck, game birds, mushroom dishes, grilled salmon or classic Burgundy fare such as coq au vin. Serve at around 15–17°C, and consider a short decant of 30–45 minutes if enjoying it young to let the aromatics open fully.

Domaine Roger Belland is a family-run estate with deep roots in Burgundy and a strong reputation for producing precise, terroir-focused wines across the Côte de Beaune.
