Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows a dark, bright red hue. The nose is immediately captivating, with sappy red and darker berries, mocha, underbrush, sweet oak, and a beautiful rose petal lift. On the palate, it offers crunchy cranberry and pomegranate fruit, backed by a chewy, deep texture and a distinctly savory, peppery edge from the stems. It is still very much in a backward, youthful phase, but its energy and concentration suggest excellent aging potential over many years.

Production
Sourced from Chambertin Clos de Bèze, one of the most celebrated Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte de Nuits, the wine reflects the site’s prized limestone-rich terroir and its ability to produce Pinot Noir with both power and finesse. The 2012 was fermented with whole clusters, contributing to its lifted aromatics, spicy complexity, and structural backbone, and it was matured in 100% new oak, adding polish and subtle mocha-toned depth to the finished wine.

Food & Serving
This is a wine best served with refined, flavor-rich dishes such as roast duck, pheasant, veal with mushrooms, or game bird preparations with earthy sauces. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting is recommended if drinking young to help open the aromatics and soften the wine’s firm structure.
