Description

Domaine Rémi Jobard’s Meursault Les Chevalières 2024 is a refined white Burgundy from one of Meursault’s respected family domaines. It combines ripe yellow and exotic fruit with honeyed richness, subtle oak, impressive depth and a long, beautifully balanced finish. The wine reflects Rémi Jobard’s connection to the renowned Jobard winemaking family and the exceptional village and Premier Cru vineyards surrounding the domaine’s parcels.

Tasting Notes
Bright and elegant in appearance, the wine opens with a generous, expressive nose of ripe yellow fruit and exotic fruit tones, complemented by notes of honey and finely integrated oak. On the palate, it is broad and fruit-driven, yet finely balanced, with notable depth, freshness and a persistent finish. The texture is polished and composed, allowing the fruit and subtle barrel influence to remain in harmony. This is a Meursault with both immediate appeal and considerable cellaring potential. Its concentration, balance and long finish suggest that it will develop greater complexity over the next several years, with careful storage allowing more mature notes of toasted nuts, butter and mineral richness to emerge.

Production
The wine comes from Domaine Rémi Jobard’s organically farmed vineyards in Meursault, within the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy. The domaine has avoided herbicides and pesticides since 1994, and all its vineyards have been organically certified since 2011. Rémi Jobard is known for an exceptionally long fermentation, lasting around two months; the barrels are moved to a cooler area to extend the process as far as possible. The wines are matured in oak, with the lesser appellations seeing used barrels and the higher-level wines aged in approximately 30% new oak, bringing refinement and depth without overwhelming the fruit.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly chilled at around 11–13°C, allowing the wine to open in the glass before serving. It is an excellent match for roast chicken, veal, lobster, scallops, grilled or baked fish, and creamy poultry or seafood dishes. Its richness also pairs well with mature cheeses such as Comté. Decanting is not essential for a young bottle, but 20–30 minutes in a decanter can help reveal its full aromatic depth; older bottles are best handled gently and served shortly after opening.

Producer
Rémi Jobard, the son of Charles Jobard and cousin of François Jobard, was inspired by these influential winemakers before taking the helm of this distinguished Meursault domaine. Today, Domaine Rémi Jobard covers approximately 8 hectares, with many of its Bourgogne parcels located directly alongside Meursault Village and Premier Cru vineyards. The domaine has earned a strong reputation for precise, elegant and age-worthy white Burgundies, supported by its long-standing commitment to organic viticulture and exceptionally patient winemaking.
