Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep inky-purple hue that hints at its power and ripeness. The nose is beautifully layered, with aromas of blackberries, sweet kirsch, licorice, graphite, and delicate acacia flowers, all wrapped in a sense of freshness and precision. On the palate, it is full-bodied and richly textured, with generous fruit, significant tannic structure, and the kind of concentration that signals a long life ahead. Although it is already impressive, this wine is still somewhat closed and will reward patience; with proper cellaring, it can evolve gracefully for two decades or more.

Production
This wine comes from selected top lots sourced from Usseglio’s vineyard holdings in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, including parcels in La Crau, one of the appellation’s most esteemed sectors. The style reflects old vines, very low yields, and a restrained, non-interventionist approach in the cellar, with aging in a combination of neutral foudres and older Burgundy barrels to preserve purity and complexity.

Food & Serving
Best enjoyed with richly flavored dishes such as roasted lamb, braised beef, game, or hearty Provençal stews. Serve at around 16–18°C and consider decanting for several hours, especially in its youth, to help the wine open up and show its full aromatic depth.
