Domaine Parigot’s Pommard Les Riottes 2022 is a deeply expressive Pinot Noir from a rare 1er Cru parcel in Monthélie, making it a distinctive find for Burgundy lovers. Crafted with a thoughtful balance of whole-cluster fruit and careful oak maturation, it offers a classic Côte de Beaune character with extra depth and finesse.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a vivid garnet-red color. The nose opens with red cherry, blackberry, and cranberry, layered with leather, clove, and a subtle earthy note that gives the wine plenty of character. On the palate, it is generous and concentrated, yet lightly mineral in feel, with dark fruit at the core and warm spice carrying through the finish. The 2022 vintage should be approachable in its youth with air, but it also has the structure and depth to develop nicely over the next several years.

Production
Les Riottes is a 1er Cru vineyard under the Monthélie appellation in Côte de Beaune, where only a handful of producers own parcels, adding to the wine’s rarity. Alexandre Parigot vinifies with around 20% whole clusters while destemming the rest, then matures the wine for 18 months: the first 12 months in a mix of new and used French oak barrels, followed by six months in tank to help the wine settle and come into balance.

Food & Serving
This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with duck, roast chicken, mushroom dishes, veal, or braised game birds. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if drinking young to let the aromatics and texture fully open.
