Tasting Notes
Pale and bright in the glass, this Chardonnay opens with lively citrus-driven aromas, lifted and pure rather than heavy or oaky. On the palate it is taut, clean, and focused, with a stony mineral character that gives the wine real tension and length. The finish is elegant and persistent, leaving a fresh impression that makes the wine especially appealing in its youth. While already charming for its clarity and precision, it should also hold well over the next few years as its Meursault character continues to unfold.

Production
La Carrière comes from a parcel in Meursault planted high on the slope, where cooler conditions help preserve freshness and mineral expression. Domaine Michelot works its vineyards with a deliberate, measured approach, limiting disease treatments as much as possible and relying instead on a carefully planned ploughing program to keep soils healthy. Harvesting is done by hand with careful selection of the best grapes, and the estate maintains its independence by not following a formal organic certification system.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with shellfish, grilled fish, roast poultry, creamy sauces, and fine mushroom dishes. Serve it well chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, to highlight its brightness and mineral tension. Decanting is generally not necessary, though a short aeration can help if enjoyed very young.

Today the domaine farms more than 19 hectares, including several prestigious Premier Cru holdings, and is widely respected for its disciplined vineyard work and expressive white Burgundy.
