Description
Domaine Michel Bouzereau Meursault Les Limozin 2021 is a beautifully poised Chardonnay from one of Meursault’s most respected names, offering the village’s signature blend of richness, precision, and mineral drive. Sourced from the prized Les Limozin parcel, it reflects both the generosity of the appellation and the finesse that has made this area of Burgundy so highly regarded among white wine lovers.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright pale gold color with a subtle luminosity. The nose is refined and expressive, opening with citrus, green apple, and white flowers, then moving into gentle hints of honey, toasted nuts, and a delicate creamy nuance from oak.
The palate is elegant and well-balanced, with lively acidity carrying a textured, layered core of ripe fruit and chalky mineral notes. There is a quiet richness rather than overt weight, finishing long, fresh, and subtly saline. While it is already highly enjoyable, it also has the structure to age gracefully over the next several years, gaining more depth and complexity with time.
Production
Les Limozin is a well-situated Meursault vineyard with limestone and clay soils that lend the wine its characteristic mineral tension and depth. The 2021 vintage was shaped by challenging spring frost that reduced yields, but the fruit that survived was of excellent quality. Careful harvest selection and traditional Burgundian vinification, including restrained oak use, help preserve the purity of the Chardonnay and the distinct sense of place.
Food & Serving
This Meursault is an excellent match for roast chicken, veal, lobster, scallops, creamy pasta dishes, and mature soft cheeses such as Brie or Comté. Serve it slightly chilled, around 10–12°C, to allow the aromatics and texture to show at their best. Decanting is not essential, but a short aeration can be beneficial if opened young.
Producer
Domaine Philippe Bouzereau, historically associated with the Bouzereau family’s long-standing presence in Meursault, is known for producing wines that faithfully express the region’s finest terroirs. The estate has earned a strong reputation for its precise, terroir-driven whites and for maintaining a classic Burgundian style, with particular strength in Meursault and neighboring appellations.
