Description
Domaine Méo-Camuzet Vosne-Romanée Cros Parantoux 2007 is a striking expression of one of Vosne-Romanée’s most celebrated parcels, offering remarkable depth, precision, and sensual Burgundy charm. Crafted from Pinot Noir by one of the region’s benchmark domaines, it combines power and finesse in a way that has made Cros Parantoux a legendary name among collectors.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby color with violet highlights, suggesting both concentration and vibrant fruit. The bouquet is layered and expressive, opening with ripe red cherries and raspberries, then unfolding into floral notes of violet and rose petals, followed by subtle spice, earth, and a distinct mineral edge.
The palate is both refined and energetic, with firm, polished tannins and fresh acidity giving structure to the wine’s generous fruit. Red berry flavors, gentle spice, earthy nuances, and elegant minerality carry through to a long, persistent finish. This 2007 vintage is already showing lovely early appeal, but it can continue to develop additional complexity over the next 5–10 years.
Production
Cros Parantoux is a small, highly regarded vineyard site in Vosne-Romanée, where the combination of limestone-rich soils, excellent drainage, and a privileged exposure helps produce wines of exceptional perfume and texture. The 2007 vintage in Burgundy was relatively early-drinking and approachable, yet this wine retains the depth and structure needed for further maturation. Vinification at Domaine Méo-Camuzet is known for careful handling of the fruit to preserve purity, balance, and site expression.
Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with roasted poultry, especially duck or game bird, as well as mushroom-based dishes and mature cheeses. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and decant gently if the bottle is young or has been resting in cellar for a long time. A short decant of 30–60 minutes is usually sufficient to let the aromatics open fully.
Producer
Domaine Méo-Camuzet is one of Burgundy’s most respected estates, with a long-standing reputation for producing precise, age-worthy wines from premier and grand cru sites across the Côte de Nuits. The domaine has become especially admired for its mastery of Vosne-Romanée, where its holdings and meticulous vineyard work consistently yield wines of remarkable elegance and complexity. Its strong reputation among collectors reflects both its heritage and its consistent critical success.
