Domaine La Lirande Syrah 2025 is a pure Southern French Syrah that brings together power, elegance, and immediacy in a way that feels both classic and modern. Made from more than 40-year-old vines in Pays d’Oc, it captures the generous Mediterranean ripeness of the region while retaining the freshness and finesse that make Syrah so compelling.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby color with a dark purple core, hinting at its concentration and youthful energy. The nose is expressive and inviting, with ripe blackberry, black cherry, and cassis layered over notes of liquorice, black pepper, Mediterranean herbs, and a subtle smoky edge. The palate is full-bodied and velvety, with a generous core of dark fruit balanced by spicy nuance and soft tannins. Blackberry, blackcurrant, and plum are wrapped in warm seasoning, while a fresh line of acidity keeps the wine lively and elegant. It is already highly approachable young, yet has enough depth and structure to develop further with short-term cellaring.

Production
Produced from old Syrah vines in Pays d’Oc, the wine reflects the Mediterranean terroir of Southern France, where warm, sunny conditions encourage full phenolic ripeness and a rich, concentrated style. The age of the vines contributes to low yields and greater intensity, helping to build both complexity and balance in the finished wine.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for grilled beef, roast lamb, hearty stews, and mature cheeses. Serve at around 16-18°C, and consider a brief decant of 20-30 minutes if drinking young to open up the wine’s aromatic spice and fruit.
