Domaine Jacques Prieur’s Echezeaux 2023 is a distinguished Grand Cru Burgundy from one of the Côte de Nuits’ most celebrated appellations. Tasting Notes
The wine displays a deep ruby colour with bright garnet reflections. Its refined bouquet opens with red and dark berries, violet, rose petal and subtle woodland aromas, complemented by delicate notes of spice and well-integrated oak. On the palate, it is elegant yet concentrated, offering layers of raspberry, cherry and blackberry alongside silky tannins, fresh acidity and a long, harmonious finish. The 2023 vintage offers both expressive fruit and the structure needed for bottle development. It can be enjoyed after careful aeration while young, but should gain further complexity over the next 10–20 years, depending on storage conditions.

Production
Echezeaux is situated in the Côte de Nuits near Flagey-Echezeaux and is renowned for producing Pinot Noir with a balance of perfume, texture and depth. The grapes are carefully selected from Grand Cru vineyards before being traditionally vinified, with gentle extraction designed to preserve the wine’s aromatic precision and silky structure. Maturation in oak barrels adds nuance and complexity while allowing the fruit and distinctive terroir to remain at the forefront.

Food & Serving
Serve at 15–17°C after allowing the bottle to come gradually to temperature. A young bottle will benefit from decanting for approximately 30–60 minutes, while mature bottles should be opened carefully and decanted only if necessary to remove sediment. Its combination of elegance and structure makes it an excellent partner for roast duck, venison, coq au vin, lamb, truffle dishes and refined mushroom preparations.
