Domaine Jacques Prieur Chambertin 2020 is a prestigious Grand Cru Burgundy from one of the Côte de Nuits’ most celebrated vineyards. Tasting Notes
The wine shows a deep ruby colour with garnet reflections. Its nose is layered and expressive, revealing ripe black cherry, blackberry and plum alongside violet, earth, undergrowth, warm spice and subtle oak. On the palate, it is concentrated yet poised, with polished tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, mineral finish. The 2020 vintage offers generous fruit and impressive balance, but this is a wine built for the cellar; it should develop beautifully over the next 15–25 years, and potentially longer under ideal conditions.

Production
Chambertin is situated on the prized limestone and clay soils of Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits, an environment renowned for producing powerful yet refined Pinot Noir. Grapes are carefully harvested by hand and selected for quality before fermentation and maturation in oak. While precise cellar practices may vary by vintage, the aim is to preserve the vineyard’s natural character while giving the wine the structure and complexity required for long ageing.

Food & Serving
Serve at approximately 16–18°C after allowing the bottle to come gently to temperature. In its youth, decanting for one to two hours can help open the wine and soften its firm structure; mature bottles are best handled carefully and may only need a short period of aeration. Its depth makes it an excellent match for roast grouse, duck, venison, beef tenderloin, game birds, truffled dishes and richly flavoured mushroom preparations.
