Domaine Hubert Lignier Morey-St.-Denis Trés Girard 2014 is a beautifully classic Pinot Noir from one of the most respected names in the Côte de Nuits. Sourced from the small lieu-dit of Trés Girard, just below Clos Sorbé in southern Morey-Saint-Denis, it combines old-vine concentration with the finesse and site transparency that have made Burgundy so prized among collectors.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this 2014 vintage shows a graceful, expressive profile with bright red and blue fruit at the core. Aromas of cherry, blueberry, flowers, and a subtle mineral edge lead into a palate that is fresh, balanced, and finely structured, with lively acidity, polished tannins, and a gently earthy undertone. A faint rusticity gives it authenticity and depth, while discreet oak adds hints of vanilla and spice without overshadowing the fruit. This is a wine that already feels harmoniously composed, but it has the balance and structure to continue evolving for 10 to 15 years in bottle, gaining further complexity and nuance over time.

Production
The wine comes from the lieu-dit Trés Girard in the southern part of Morey-Saint-Denis, where the vines are around 40 years old and benefit from the limestone-rich soils typical of the Côte de Nuits. Hubert Lignier vinifies traditionally, with fermentation in open vats and maturation in French oak barrels, some of them new, to add subtle complexity while preserving the purity of the Pinot Noir fruit and the character of the terroir.

Food & Serving
This Pinot Noir is a superb match for classic Burgundy-style dishes such as roasted beef, game, poultry, and mature cheeses. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and if possible, decant for 30–60 minutes when young to allow the aromatics and texture to open fully.
